So my fur shed took on some water with all this rain and all my wood boards (except the greasy fleshing board) have somewhat minor green mold spots on them. Do you think sanding them down to open up the grain, then rubbing with peroxide and then when dry sealing with turtle wax car wax or something similar would be the best fix? Or is there a better way. Looking to get rid of the mold as well as prevent it from happening again. I won't be using this fur shed again as I'm moving from this house I'm renting in April.

No need to sand hem down just rub them down with some bleach. that will kill the bacteria that has caused the mold.

Clean, dry, and seal are the 3 necessary steps to mitigate and prevent mold. Probably no need to sand but the worst areas could be wire brushes. Bleach (15% is plenty) then a fan and heater would help. After everything is dry consider using a petroleum based paint or sealer and you will be fine.

I don't use any sealer on my boards and they are 40 years old and still In great shape. I believe that leaving the boards natural that they will absorb some of the moisture and grease and help In the drying process.

I don't worry about a little mold, it brushes off.

Thank you all for the input. I will try the bleach and dry method. I don't think sealing them with something would be a bad idea. Won't be using the coyote or otter boards until at least next November so having them sealed with something while in storage might be a good idea. And Happy Birthday Les!

I would just spray them with white vinegar and let it set a couple hours then rinse off with water and dry them.
