.223 50-55 gr nosler If the front of bullet blows away, the rear of the bullet is solid copper, I found the base of bullet up against the other side, atleast something made it all the way across. Virtually all of them hit in neck, head , or chest dropped instantly

21 grains of IMR 4198 under just about any bullet you wanna use. Barnes and the heavy stuff being the exclusion thus far. Have had great luck with it. All 1/2” or better in most guns I’ve used it in.
I keep desperately hoping that one day someone will call me "Sir" without adding "please calm down" or "you're causing a scene."

Buy bulk ammo. Not a highly profitable caliber to reload, I suspect. You can get steel cased 55 gr fmj's for $157 a thousand if you shop.

when you purchase very inexpensive steel cased ammo you must also be aware of the hidden cost in BiMetalic bullets as they are called , if the bullet attracts a magnet but is not a green tip type then they are a thin mild steel jacket with a lead core. these bullets have been found to erode the rifling of a barrel at approximately 2x that of copper jacketed lead core ammunition lucky gunner did a nice test comparing the steel cased bimetalic bullets with brass cased copper jacket bullets https://www.luckygunner.com/labs/brass-vs-steel-cased-ammo/

Buy bulk ammo. Not a highly profitable caliber to reload, I suspect. Its not about profit Charles. There is only one factory loading I have found that will come close to my hand loads in the 223 and thats the Remington Hog Hammer with its Barnes TSX bullet. Still not quite as accurate as my home rolled stuff

I use close to the same charge weights for both within a half a grain depending on bullet weight . they are right next to each other on the burn rate chart as well ... its my go to powder for the Grendel with 120 grain bullets as well LVR that is

No need. Fiocchi 55sp is dirt cheap and patterns great if you don't reload or care too that is definitely worth stocking up on at 44 cents a round.
