Bought a box of books at an auction couple years back.. All outdoor type stuff and couple trapping books. Figure I'd read what I wanted and give them to my brother to read. He was a big time reader which I'm really not.
So today I'm thinking little tire moving them books around should get rid them. Go poke around on net see can I figure what these books might be worth if anything.
Got one in the pile no idea why it's considered rare? Maybe someone here that is book person might know?
New on Amazon it's like $88.00 used ones are like $90.00 or higher, not sure how that works? Is even one on e-bay listed at around $240.00 must be signed or someone is fishing for dollars?? Not clue why that might be that high didn't read condition..
Anyway here is the book don't look like any thing special to me ..

Any Book guys here got a clue why it's considered rare?

No idea Mac, but a cool book for sure.
That kid in the upper right looks like it could be Trapper Les.

I dont think Dr. Lund is connected to the Lund boat company. Seems to be a pretty well known author in Minnesota with a number of titles about the area.

I don't believe he was either, just coincidence. I've read a couple of his books and if I recall correctly he and his family spent their time in the NW Angle.

I've never heard of him, and I live up here, But my circle isn't that big. Doesn't include many doctors.

Lund is from the Motley area. He wrote many books ranging from cookbooks, Native American history, three or four books on Lake of the Woods and it's history, etc. Most are from the 70's-90's. Many of his books are cheap ($3-$10) but maybe you have one that is a first edition that wasn't reprinted? Or they just never printed many in general? I've seen that book before and it wasn't very expensive. Again, maybe you have something special there with when or how many were printed?
