I think my next gun may be a pedersoli One trigger. shoot whichever barrel you pull the hammer back. My great uncle had a side by side double like that. i wish i knew what happened to it. His 12 gauge was a breech loader that took cartridges. https://www.davide-pedersoli.com/sc...plains-shotgun-the-fast-back-action.html

You don't need one. If Mauser ammo is hard to find you could always shoot a .260 Rem. If anyone is going to build a new bolt action rifle with a FACTORY action, buy a M/700 action from Brownells. Then true it up. Agree, but you can get the 700 action for close 100 bucks less than Brownells, from Grice gun shop.

I am slowly putting together a 6.5 Gibbs as money allows. Its based on the 30-06 case so brass is cheap. Has ample case capacity to shove a 140 grain bullet at a good clip and is something different to the craze thats going on at the moment. The upside of the Creedmoor is that there are lots of 6.5mm bullets to pick from now.
Let's go Brandon

No Creedmore for me either I've got a nice .6 mm / .244 Remington but the 6.5 x 55 has a special spot in my heart I would like a 7 x 57 mm just because I ended up with some ammo at a auction sale a couple year's ago I guess I'm a fan of 284 diameter calibers . If i were to have a rifle built I'd go with a Remington 700 action also . Allan

Don't have one either Good cartridge I imagine like a 7mm/08 would be if they gave it a snappy name instead of making it a 308 shadow

I have a number of firearms, but favorite is my 30-06. I don't see where the Creedmore will do more than my 06 will. I don't see the need for one.

Very similar recoil to the 243 but can push a lot heavier bullet than the 243. Extremely accurate and with the right bullet is very effective on up to and including elk sized game.

if and when the US military picks up the 6.5 for the standard issue I will buy one then. I like staying with nato calibers or at least very common ones. I reload but i also like the idea if I need ammo it will be available. I do have a few semi-odd calibers for fun and thats all i can afford to keep fed from the reloading press, dont care to add any more unless its something really special which the creedmore isnt in my opinion.
I would be alot more tempted to buy a gun in a caliber i already have than adding a new caliber to my collection.

pat, don't build one on a 788 action, the locking lugs are not designed for that kind of pressure which will lead to bolt lug compression, eventually leading to headspace issues. RR Agreed!..use any modern short action.
