Just checking to see if anyone has any experience with this generation Highlander? 2017 and 2018 models appear to have a serious transmission problem when they went to the 8-speed. Im willing to stick with a 2016, even with slightly worse mileage ratings to avoid that type of problem. Just hoping to hear from folks that might have first-hand knowledge of 2016....thanks

I have one. Wife loves it and so do I. Gas mileage isn't great but better than the toyota vans we drove in the past and much more comfortable. Only problem we have had was I smoked a deer when it had 11000 miles on it and did 12000$ damage.

I'm more of a 4Runner guy, but to each his own. Obviously, ride quality is better in a Highlander, and it's a great choice if you consistently need to carry more than 6 people. I don't know anything specific to the 2016 model.

I have to ask... are you going to change your screen name if you buy one? Or are you going to change the back of the vehicle to read "Midlander" instead? :-)
