Have not been on this forum for 3 years, after rediscovering it I figured I would share my season so far. I long-lined for fox out east this year and here are the results from a 6 day check. A 14 hour drive from Michigan, but we don't have much in the way of foxes here to catch. Most of all I trap in Michigan is Bobcats and Beaver, with an occasional coyote line. I run almost exclusively longsprings, but do own a dozen MB 550's and 1.5 vic's for foxes. Almost everything caught during this trip was using Sleepy creek #2's and #3 longs. These traps work best for me in Michigan setting in snow and frozen ground, and bed well in the sandy eastern shore soil. However, I keep my 550's for setting in the red clay. I ran 70 sets and caught 40 fox, 4 otter, 14 coon, and 12 possum in 6 check days. 70% of the catch was on My home brew lure "Liquid Chicken Foxy Night", 20% on Carmen's all call and 10% on O'gourman's Government call. "Liquid Chicken Foxy Night" is a rendered pork and chicken fat base with castor, fox glands, and skunk essence with a few other fixin's, had what these Red's craved.

Looks like a good time and nice catch!

I always wonder when someone goes state hopping in the more populated eastern third of the U.S., how they go about getting permissions. Do you have permissions in advance or are you cold calling?

Excellent results! You know what you're doing! Sounds like you have a winner lure formulation too.

Glad yall' enjoy the pictures, for those who want to see what my go to land traps are these are it. I normally put big pans and Laminations on my #3's and they are my go to eastern Coyote and cat trap. I also run them for beavers in the spring and target front feet on castor mounds with these smaller jawed, big pan traps.

Very nice pics. You might want to print these and tuck em away for forty years so you'll remember what it was like to feel so healthy some day.

Nice setup on that #3. A friend of mine uses almost all Victor #3 longs for beaver and targets front foot catches.
