You know they are changing the name of Athol right? Decided they're gonna change it to Anith.

Good to see Blue again Sharon! He's tucked away safely until I can get up to the framers and get a fitting display made!

Jack, I like Ken's suggestion...need to start making these into retreats! Need to approach this like Americorps or stand up a CCC type work-training program! Probably doable!

Thank you, Jumperzee , Blue is in a league of his own. Such a pleasure exploring his colours .

I agree on the retreat ...a shuttle to transport everyone, from the F&G class center, to places to eat, and to the hotel for evenings of stories, song and good cheer grin

As of today, I noticed there are still 18 seats remaining for the wolf certification class at the F&G Region office in Idaho Falls on Sunday, March 29.

Thanks Grandpa. Glad you mentioned that. Looks like both classes in Lewiston (28, 29 Feb) and both in CDA (1,2 March) are jammed full.

As a Curman who runs in wolf country, boy Sharon that picture with the hound is sure hard to look at. Great drawings.

Thanks Bruce, just keeping this awesome class from floating downstream too much , so close to class dates.

Machias, I understand your reaction , when a person lives it .

That image has a two fold purpose with me.

It was a chapter published in Trapper's Post, from Don Shumaker's book . In the story, the hound lived, and his owner shot one and the other ran off .

This image is one of many reasons for Jack's classes , directly. Managing a valuable renewable resource .

Also, every time I make an image that the anti hoards disapprove of, I pound home my freedom.

Decades ago, starting out working for businesses in the screen print industry, mugs and steins , and other companies that sold items to the public, any animal in real life action was frowned upon...no wolves fighting, hunting, running moose, taking livestock, no bears doing the same, no moose fighting or displaying that amazing sway antlered posturing, prey and predator alike all had to be "cute and cuddly" for buyers. In doing two fox leaping in tall grass for a stein , I put a mouse scurrying into that grass, to explain the behavior to buyers and paint a story theme. The publisher was afraid the image would be a bust , so he had me take the mouse out. A dang mouse....

I was slowly wilting in the mind numbing world of unreality from a market who wanted stifling images , all the same , despite being paid well.

When I finally met my editors and shattered that restrictive ceiling , it was as the phoenix rising out of death's ashes. One of my first images asked for was a coyote lifting its leg, wee weeing on a log.

I was free .

Every time I generate one of those images, it's the same freedoms again , steamrolling over the tyranny of antis.

While the image is understandably uncomfortable , it underscores exactly the vital need of trappers , worldwide. And freedom.

And Jack's one of a kind amazing classes
grin
