Anyone catch that Putin has taken a stance against same sex marriage in Russia? Or that he openly supports Christian values and faith? Doesn't exactly sound like a communist leader. I'm sure he's not doing it to get voter support. Some of these ideas he's proposing to include in the constitution of the Russian Federation. Been a lot of changes in that part of the world since the days of Reagan and the Berlin Wall. Would like to hear some thoughts on what is behind Putin's recently expressed views.

Putin is the typical strong, authoritarian slavic leader that Russia favors be it czars or soviets.

He is very conservative like most previous leaders in Moscow. Very Russia first(which makes sense) and suspect of everything non-Russian.

Non-russian religions there (protestant) are under scrutiny and are being banned.

Don't be fooled. Putin is the United States' arch enemy and wants to destroy our democracy from within and without.

JMHO, but even an apparently nonreligious dictator such as Putin recognizes the intrinsic value of societies framed around judeo-christian mores. All of modern history culminating in the American experiment bears that out. Sadly though he is doing so as the American experiment fizzles to an inglorious end as a result of the abolishment of those same mores.
