Sorry, but I just have to vent a little.
So I pull into a local car wash that has really good vacuum cleaners. All I really want to use is the vacuum cleaners. Sign says vacuums for car wash customers only. I tell onsite manager I just want to use the vacuum. She says you have to use the car wash first,then I say okay, will my truck fit. I have a Dodge 3500 Ram with a flatbed. She says no it won't fit in the car wash. I say I'll pay for the car wash and just use the vacuums then. She says no, you have to use the car wash first. I say well I'm willing to pay the ten bucks and just use the vacuum just pretend I use the car wash she says can't do it. I say could you call her manager she calls her manager, nope can't do it.
I wonder what the owner of the car wash would think of this? I think I'll call him when he's available on Tuesday. That will be an interesting conversation

of course, I'm not too sure paying $10 to vacuum out a truck a single time is real smart, either. (put another twenty in and buy a small shop-vac....you can vacuum it hundreds of times)


btw...if that's the WORST stupidity you encounter this week, I'd say you're WAY ahead of the game.

Was it a government operated car wash? It seems like that kind of thinking isn't as common in private enterprise.

Definitely a government bureaucratic mindset. They probably can leave the carwash and have a bright future in a government office with a huge queue in front of them.

I would call the owner too.

Funny you should ask, it is sort of a government-owned car wash. It is owned by the Puyallup tribe of Indians.,,
I I sort of know one of the primary tribal managers, went to school with him, and he's a fairly sharp entrepreneur.
It will be interesting to hear his take on it.

I can't say I am surprised Problem solving, thought, reasoning and logic are not what we are trained to do anymore .And the fools are outnumbering the rest of what is left at an ever increasing number . Usually when I encounter someone like that I just stop talking .They run out of stupid things to say and than walk away

There is always exceptions to the rules and what would it hurt and offering to pay the price. That is a stupid business person.

They have that rule for a reason, no one here knows what that reason is. They would be foolish to allow you to skirt the rule, because at that point they would be hypocrites if they enforced it in the future. It's the rule and they stood by it, good for them.
Now you're hoping to get the worker/manager in trouble with the owner because they wouldn't break the rules for you. Classy.

Could buy a cheap one for less than the bother of being upset and use it for ever at your place and be your own boss !!

Does the attendant take the payment or is payment made directly by the customer prior to entering what I assume is a fully automatic car wash? It makes a difference and it should be an interesting conversation.
