Too bad the people of NYC are forced to be victims and aren’t permitted to defend themselves. They want the rest of us just like that.

If there isn't, there should be safeguards in the law that after repeated violations, the person does jail time. This guy will get his due, it's just that he doesn't have to post a bail while the public defender takes his case to court. I can't get too riled up about one unbalanced man and his proclamations. Many states are looking more toward rehabilitation than incarceration. This man needs rehabilitation while he is in jail.

That is actually more widespread than just nyc.

My first thought was that vigilantism will be on the rise.

My friend Ralph, who is in his late eighties and an angry old man, used to tell me stories where thieves and other trouble makers in his neighborhood growing up would be severely beaten and if that didn't work would have their houses burnt down or they would just disappear. When Ralph was a kid, he and other neighborhood kids would beat bums and drunks with sticks and run them out of the railroad yards and their neighborhood.

If the law and police won't protect people, people will start protecting themselves again.

This is very common in a LOT of dem run cities. It's not just NYC. I can name several guys locally that have been arrested that many times without doing any real time.

I guess at some point I'm going to make the news as a non American citizen that has a gun or two and is resisting arrest because mini mike says so ...... tell ya what ..... on that day , put your ear plugs in as its going to be loud

His needs????? I thought we studied reading, writing, and arithmetic, and then picked up a trade, started at the bottom and WORKED our way up, got what we have by EARNING it, and started to MEET OUR OWN NEEDS, in the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS......

The American dream has nothing to do with welfare AT ALL.........I know people that have well over a dozen DUI's and are still driving......

There's a fix for it alright......and people will get fed up and apply it.....and they'll be called criminals and racists for defending themselves, at which point MORE needs done.
