If you ever see the mining process they use to get materials for the batteries you would laugh, massive open pit mining.

Yep lets see charge the battery plug it in, the electricity most likely comes from a coal fired power plant.

The dirty little secret of electric vehicles: If you turn on the heat the battery drains very fast. Wonder why they never mention that? Maybe because they won't be practical in about 80% of the Country?

Funny thing is, folks will buy them, and some will be hard pressed to admit they made a mistake, because they want to believe in something so bad.

I got a Tesla owner really triggered one day when he was running his mouth about how green his car was and I pointed out his car was powered by coal and my gasoline car was better for the environment. As he ranted , I told him his Tesla was contributing to strip mining in third world countries with child labor. He really lost it then. He left the car show he was attending with his car to push his false green agenda.

Footnote- I have nothing against a green agenda. Just make sure first it is truly green and DOES help the environment before you push it as fact.

Its just another "GIMMIK", that the auto producers have been push(by the Fed.) to produce. Satisfying the "GREENIES"!

I have been running my primary and trapping vehicle on recycled materials granted its not perfect but it works pretty good.

Its funny how nobody talks about electric after being plugged into the wall. How much of the country is struggling for power now, regular blackouts. It was a problem this year in Alberta, imagine the large population areas of the US or Canada even. Wait until a large piece of the population requires their vehicles plugged in. Oh ya, how is that power that comes from the wall produced? some kind of energy product at the other end, These will be massive power generation sites burning some type of fossil fuel or non renewable energy, and the infrastructure that will need to be built. Those products will all be built using fossil fuels as the wont be an alternative fast enough for the demand. The growth (buildings, infrastructure, roads, etc) in any US typical city per year will demand more energy products at a rate faster than it can be declined by alternatives.
But my car is plugged in.

The reason people are protesting is because Tesla still does not have approval to build there, they want them to wait to cut the trees until they have permits to build, it actually makes sense if you look into it past the headline
