Need new work boots, what do you recommend? What are you wearing?
Prefer pull on
No steel or composite toe!
10-13 hr/day boots
$200 boot allowance, will chip in some
I work inside on concrete and outside, mud, gravel, grass equally.

I wear keens,no idea on the model name. It's my second time getting them. Super comfortable, and they have mesh on the side so I can actually feel a breeze. Wonderful on hot days, not so much on cold days, but I work inside.these are steel toe, but I'm pretty sure they come in regular toe as well. I think they're right around 160-170.

I and my wife both wear RedWing

but we are also both lace up steel toe

most stores and shoe companies seem to realize 200 is the work boot allowance at most companies and we keep finding boots that are within a few dollars of the allowance , she gets one I have to pay for my own boots.

Take a good look at Thorogood boots. They make several pull on boots. If they are anything like their lace up boots, you'll like em. I used to be a Redwing guy until they went to China. Someone put me onto these Thorogoods and I wish I would have known about them years ago. They are much more comfortable for my feet and have held up very well for two years now. I did treat them with Obenhauf boot dressing when new. Best of all, they are made in USA...Wisconsin I think?!!

Thorogoods for me too. I work on concrete floors 10 hours a day. I have tried other brands and they don't last 6 months before my feet start hurting. My last thorogoods lasted over a year and I still wear them when not at work.

Redwing 953.

Been wearing them most of the time since 95.

Tried a couple of other brands and always go back.

As said before, and shown on Nessie's tag, imported. They bring it back to stitch the upper to the sole and claim American made. Looks like they might be trying to get things fully back to USA..good on them. Problem is, now that ive worn Thorogoods, Ill never go back...just way more comfortable than my Redwings ever were. Everyones feet are different , get what feels good to you

On my 3rd pair of Thorogoods and I highly recommend. I hike and disc golf in keens. I wear them when I'm doing roofing too. They are awesome shoes. Only waterproof shoes I've found.

I wear Red Wing, lace ups and pull on all steel toe. They or heavy! But, they last me the longest time. I’m very hard on boots. Other boots, just don’t last for me.

Thorogoods are made in the pacific northwest, Oregon or Washington, I think.

I wear thorogoods and they’re made by Weyenberg, who have been around for a long time, nice soft oil tanned leather with a nice white wedge sole, I treat them Obanauf leather conditioner!

if you sweat through boots , boot driers help but having a second pair helps a lot also and alternate let them really have time to dry out

new insoles every 6 months also
