Something, probably coyotes, killed and partially ate a red fox on my farm. I found it today while looking for deer sheds.

It was only 150 yards from my egg dump and a few hundred yards from my house. I dump the eggs that I incubate that don't hatch there. The fox eat eggs about as soon as I dump them. I had 1 old fox, that stunk real bad, that I have not seen for a while, that would let me get within 15 feet of it. I kill coons, opossums and skunks here, but enjoy watching the fox to much to kill them for so little return.

Do coyotes actually kill foxes? I knew they hated each other but figured they'd distance themselves

Yes they absolutely do. I've had reds in traps when the coyotes come along it looks like they had a tug of war with them.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

I’ve caught coyote/fox doubles before. Guessing the coyote got caught first if they kill them in traps. I’ve heard fox will follow coyotes, don’t know how true it is.

There are bald eagles that nest about 3 miles from here.

The fox was lose, not in a trap. It looked to me that it was killed in my hay field and then carried under the bushes to be eaten. Both front legs were entirely gone as well as some of the ribs and organs in the chest.

Jeff, there is a at least 8 reports of bigfoot in my area. 4 reports are within sight of my farm. 2 literally adjoin my farm. I have never seen a bigfoot here, or anywhere else, but I have seen a bear here 3 times and have neighbors, who have frequently seen bears. I have little doubt that the bigfoot sightings in my area are actually bear sightings.

I see eagles take red fox here in the spring. They look about like that.

I would say it was probably coyote(s) or dogs. I had one kill a fox on my set this year, left a few bite marks on the torso but not too bad.
