Is there a big difference in catching beaver when go from 6 1/2 jawspread to a 7 1/2 jawspread ? Is bridger 5 coil a good trap, ? Looking at pic online of them, not sure if a swivel drowner lock on end chain on them or what it is, on Bridger 5 coil

Bridger #5 are good traps. There is a swivel on the end that you hook up to a drowner lock.

I use #5s they work good, it's a swivel on the end of the chain, run your drownder wire from inside the swivel and it works as a lock, the end with the chain has to be facing the water.

I use Bridger Number 5s exclusively for Beavers. First time using them I caught Two Beavers by the front feet. Solid Trap that will serve you well.

I am using mb 750’s and bridger 5 ‘s with high success rate catching almost always the front foot. I won’t use anything smaller or only a two coil trap. I also use drowning rods on all my beaver footholds.

I too like the #5. I can use up to a 8 1/2 . I could use a ts85 but heard bad things about them.

I got some of those TS85’s and still use them despite of the bad things I hear of them.

I have ts85s and have no complaints. they catch as good or better than mb750s which i run also. They set alot easier for sure. When i buy more footholds it will be ts85s.

I think I'll buy 1 to see this spring what the argument about them is.
