Actually, if I had to be sick in Asia I would choose Singapore. A very modern nation/state.

The reason the flu and very likely Covid-19, infects many less people in the US from March on is that human structures and vehicles are dryer in cold weather, which makes our nasal membranes shrink, allowing viruses to pass through them easier. Human structures and vehicles are more humid in hot weather, making our nasal membranes stay thicker and more effective against viruses and bacteria.

I dropped an open bottle of skunk pee in my trapping shed. With the shed closed up and the right wind direction, you can smell it 100 yards away.
Personally, I don't mind the smell of skunk. Skinning one inside will make your eyes water some, though.

Why is the flu always worst in the winter here?

In areas with low humidity, such as 40%, the flu spreads and Covid-19 will likely spread, much easier and effect people more quickly. Population density also effects the spread of disease. In areas with high population density, diseases spread more quickly.
