At the MT sale last weekend coyotes sold between 38 and 39% cheaper than they did in ND in January. I am thinking they dropped too.

The US and Canada use about 65% of the coyotes through Canada Goose so the reliance on China is no where near as much with yotes as most other furs. It is interesting to note that we can use more expensive labor to tan and dress coyotes but not other furs. I Must be missing something. To me coyotes show us what demand does. With Canada and the US being a combined 360 million people we can consume most of the coyotes and create a high demand worldwide but now days 35 million mink can't cover raising expenses in a 7 billion world market. Six years ago 60 million mink were not enough.

Bryce, Jim Gibb reported elsewhere that for the past three years CG has used China to tan and manufacture their ruffs . In essence we are still relying on them although that can be rectified it won't be quick or easy.
