Might be helpful to some folks, if you have really rusty traps or any other equipment get a gallon of distilled white vinegar pour it in an old cooler or tote anything that will hold liquid add rusty traps or tools fill the rest up with water just until the rusty stuff is covered with water. Let it soak for 12 hours then pull it out hit it with a wire brush repeat until rust is gone. When its shines like new soak in another bucket with a box of baking soda and water to neutrilze the acid. I did about 100 traps and 2-3 axe heads like this last fall all came out shiny new like from the factory. Whole process costs about 5 bucks. The only thing I would say is check the springs after on the coiled traps they might be weakened and need to be replaced.

It won't weaken the springs. They are weakened by the rust
White vinegar is already diluted to 5%from the bottle. You are further diluting it by adding water.
The stuff is a food product. Some folks mix it with oil and eat it on a salad.

Thanks for the tip though.
