Which Duke Traps do you like?

I like the 1.5 dbl jaw coil. For coon and mink

Also the Duke 110 bodygripper traps for mink or muskrat. Easy to set and more than enough strength.

Thats about it for me.

I used #2 coils and had no problems holding coyotes and also have a few 220.s used for coons. They all work but the footholds need a little work to make them better. Not one bit afraid of using them.

Duke 1.5 coil is my favorite for muskrats. I weaken the springs and use them on floats. One of my favorite things about them is the long levers. Makes them easy to set even with strong springs while just holding them in my hands. Don't have to bring the float in the boat to reset.

#2 regular round jaw, #3 regular jaw, #4 off set, 330, 280, 220, and large cage traps. All good, The frame and cross frame on the #2's need some reinforcement to stand up to coyotes. Other than that no complaints.

I have held a quite a few coon, otter , and fox with them as well. Bigger animals can bend them up, as they are strong for their frame. 1 1/2s.

This is a #3 offset trap with the #2 Wild River pan on it, and I added to this, Taos Lightning springs and 30" of chain and swivels. I dolled it up for cats but set and caught several coyotes with it right off the bat.

1 1/2 regular jaw, best mink, coon, fox trap for the $$, and Dukes best overall trap IMO.

I like the 330's, and the DP's. The fact the 330s are 1" shorter allow them to be set in places where other legal sets may not be able to be made (we need 50+% submersion).

I've got some duke coils and use those footholds where I think I might have theft problems. Never cry as much when dukes are stolen. The 3 coil is way sturdier than the 2s and 1.75s. I have to retune the smaller coils after coyote catches every time. I cuss those a lot but again I set them.where I need to and they work in those situations for me.
I do like the duke 160s and 220s on coon though. The bodygrips work well. The DP was best duke trap made in my opinion. I like them, enough I buy more of them and get few losses in duke DPs.
Otherwise, no not a fan of duke coils under size 3. Dont like the chain, dont like the thin swivels, and the frames, dogs, and jaws are not very thick. I have not bought any more of them either.
Jim

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.
