Beautiful! Tried it a number of years ago when I was building powder horns. I didn't do too bad of a job but nothing near as nice as these!
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

At a glance it looks native. Just did some research. Nuguruk is accurate. Was a Seattle company that sourced hardware from Germany and used walrus handles.
