Okay I feel weird doing this but my 20 something daughter and soon to be husband just picked up and moved to the Franklin area in North Carolina, casing their dream for a new start and they know absolutely no one in that area. The plan is to buy some land and build a small off grid home, but for now they a renting a tiny house/cabin and looking for work. As a farther whose little girl is hundreds of miles away, I wonder if there is anyone in that area that might have a lead on some work or just be someone that could offer support to a young couple as a local that knows the rope. -thanks

I live about 20 miles or so south of there in northeast Georgia. There is plenty of work in this area right now. If they are willing to work it should be easy to find something.

Born and raised in Franklin but live about an hour away now. Lots of good people, not a lot of job opportunity. Wish them the best, I feel like we live in the most beautiful place on earth! I moved down into the flat lands once before and once I made it back home I vowed I’d never leave again if I could help it.

I am near Knoxville about a couple of hours from there but depending on my route I drive past there once a month. If they ever need to borrow a flatbed trailer to haul stuff for the homestead I could drop it of and leave it there for a month on my way to the beach.

The hospital that serves almost all of SW North Carolina has 600 unfilled jobs.
