I see them show up on the Trap Shed ever so often, but them things get bought quicker than about anything that shows up there. Isn't there a smaller version, like the 500? How come those hardly ever show up? And, are they THAT much better a trap that the additional cost is acceptable? I cringe even when I lose a trap that I bought used. I might convulse if I had a $40 trap stolen or mashed by a tractor. I'm still curious as to why some acquire every one of them they can get their hands on.

There is a 500 size.
The MB650 is a clone of the 600.
I have a few of the 500 and 600 in my trap collection. Never would I use them.
WISH I HAD MORE TIME TO TRAP!

650 is NOT a sterling clone. completely different pan/trigger. mb650 pan needs replaced after a decade or so of constant use. the 600 will just eventually not have much pan tension.
750 pan is closer to the sterling 600 than the mb650.

Jaws and springs are interchangeable with the MJ 600 and the MB 650 the triggers are different the MJ trigger rocks. Setting at a regular type of set not much difference between the 500 and 600 for blind sets I go with the 600s.

About 5 years ago I saw Montgomery Fur had 2 of the 500s in stock so I went up there and bought both of them. The MB650 and MB550 are amazing traps and definitely trump all other traps, except for the MJs. I love MBs, but these MJs are a lot better. Can’t appreciate one till you hold one. I did have one stolen a few years back by still have the other. Caught a coyote and badger in it this season. I’m thinking of making an order for a half dozen more this summer.
If traps work like the Antis say......I would have no fingers.
