So I’m finishing up a property this weekend and as I checked sets this morning I decided to pull some traps where I haven’t made any catches or seen any coyote sign. I decided to check one of my cameras along a dam that has a swamp to the East that empties into a pond. I get a pic of a coyote every couple of days there and have a couple of sets there as well.
I’m scrolling through the pics and noticed a guy with a knife in his hand and what appears to be a hog dog. I knew the landowner was down and had some guests that had come to hog hunt. I sent him a text reminding him of the sets I had down there. He said they were riding around last night using thermals and had no dogs. I told him not last night, yesterday afternoon. He then called and asked if I’d come to the house so he could download the pics. Well that was about 1030 this morning and I just got a call stating they had identified the guy and the dog. Turns out it was a neighbors nephew. Needless to say the trespasser will not be trespassing there again, lol. I also get a “thanks” from the landowner and said they’ll be extra in my check when we square up tomorrow.

Needless to say, with the increased “traffic” there were no pics of any critters except a lone rabbit.

I love trapping people. The easiest of all the critters out there.
Good job.
