Now I want to warn my T-man friends, just in case my dream is prescient, so they can plan their investments in advance. Jim why would anyone "invest" anything, in such a scenario? [.gov will just take anything they deem you don't "need"] hope and pray your surgery saves your foot/ankle.

I've been kind of sleepy since surgery on my ankle on Wednesday (probably my ankle's last chance before amputation--wish me luck).
Anyway, a couple hours ago I fell asleep on my chair and I had a dream. In my dream I traveled about four years into the future. Don't ask me how; in the way of dream-logic, I was just there. Trump had been defeated in the November 2020 election. Instead of "MAGA," the popular slogan of the day was "Feel the Berne."
Yes, the Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders had won the election. But Bernie, at the time of my dream, was in the hospital because of a stroke. So the reigns of government had been handed to vice-president Elizabeth Warren.
My ARs and other guns with ten-round-plus capacity were slathered with Cosmoline and buried in the back yard. Our all-electric "green" car--we only had one, because of the taxes--had broken down again. Everybody not already in a good job had gone to free college. But at least my kids had health insurance coverage they could afford.
Then I took a look at my investment statements, and got startled back to consciousness.
Now I want to warn my T-man friends, just in case my dream is prescient, so they can plan their investments in advance.

Coincidentally, I too recently had a dream where I traveled into the future. In my dream I traveled a bit further than you did, about ten or eleven years. In my dream not only had Trump won a second term, but his oldest son Donald Jr. had also won two terms as President. Between the two of them and their conservative policies America had been returned to and surpassed it's former glory. Unemployment was at all-time lows, the economy continued to boom, manufacturing had returned to American soil due to fair trade agreements implemented by the Donalds.
The economy was so good in fact that the national debt had been paid off and afterwards taxes were sharply reduced. Everybody that wanted to work was working. Even those that didn't want to work were working due to drastic reductions in welfare and the general elimination of "free" stuff from the government. And most of those folks eventually began to take pride in their new status of being productive members of society; earning their own way as opposed to being worthless government leeches.
The liberal takeover of America was halted and reversed. Political correctness was gone and hate groups like Me Too and Black Lives Matter faded away. No longer did small but vocal groups like LGBTQ hold political sway and have "bathroom" policy forced on the general public.
The idiocy of liberal ideology was exposed and all but the most brain-washed walked away from what the Democratic party had become which resulted in a landslide win for Donald Jr. in both elections.
Illegal immigration all but stopped and legal immigrants seeking and receiving citizenship was at an all-time high.
Nearly all anti-2A laws were eliminated and as a result violent crime dropped to a historical low.
Between the two of them they nominated and had hundreds and hundreds of of conservative federal judges appointed including three more Supreme Court Justices thereby ensuring that conservative values would continue to dominate American culture for generations.
I'm sure there was more but the alarm clock woke me so I could get ready for work.
I woke up smiling and happy.
Best wishes for your ankle surgery.
Eh...wot?

James , our political beliefs may be opposite , that but aside , hope you the best on your ankle. Political issues are one thing and we may be able to agree to disagree.
Hope you the best on your recovery. Having faced cancer in the face and beat it , I hope you the best. An amputation is really scary.
If I had a choice to vote for a Democrat candidate ( which I hate ) and it would give you the non-amptation , I would do it in a heartbeat. Fact. Truth. Honest.

Thanks for the well wishes on the ankle. Cragar, your words choke me up.
It doesn't sound like too many of you are going to pay attention to my dream in making investment decisions. I don't blame you.

James, I hope your ankle heals up, and am sending prayers to that effect. As far as investments, I'm pretty deep in precious metals (Brass, Copper, and Lead). Charlie

Dang!!!!!
Not sure what drugs they got you on after your surgery, but they seem to be pretty good.
When I wrecked my motorcycle they had me on some goooooood stuff. I thought I was some sort of space dude. I do remember looking up some number for some department at NASA and leaving an apology message. I never got a return call so I'm guessing we're all good. I just know my wife started yelling at me in the hospital when she realized what I was doing. WOMEN!!!!!
Good luck with the ankle.
