I bought some steel pans for 110’s and I can’t figure out how to install them. They come with some sort of trigger mechanism. Can’t find anything online.
Anyone use these before?

I have used 1/2" hardware cloth for pans before, by weaving them on the wire triggers, so's to lay the trap down flat in shallow water, for a suitcase catch. Never seen or heard of a solid pan like that.

I put barker mink pans on my 120's used for marten years ago. catch went up. i would say you bend those trigger wires into a 90 first then attach them to that smaller piece that then attaches to the pan

I think the smaller of the two pieces replaces both the dog and trigger. Can't make out how the pan attaches though.

It looks like the small piece hooks on both jaws and the pivot toggle pushes it off when the pan is pushed. I don't think they are attached to the trap full other than by the 90 degree tabs. The slot in the pan should go over the inside tab on the end furthest from the pan. With the bend in the pan the toggle will lift and push the small bracket off the single tab side. I would compress the springs and wire the jaws of the trap so they would just hold tension on the 90 tabs to play with it. If you get it working I would like to see a picture of it set.

MJM you may be right. If done like that would have to hunt for both pieces rather than just the pan it looks like to me. I dont think I would like a pan that comes off when a catch is made or am I not looking at this thing correctly? It looks to me like the slot in the pan just sits on a tab of the smaller piece. that bend in the pan is to get it down closer to the jaws I think

danny I think I would drill a hole through it and cable it to the trap.

Thanks everyone, it took some thinking and experimenting but got it together. I think they are going to be awesome. They would definitely spring if a weasel walked on the pan. And with the way the system works you don’t have to try to keep the dog clear of the ground or debris (since there isn’t one).
Everything stays together when the trap springs. Looks like an A -1 set up.

Where did you find them and what are they called so I can do a search? I like the idea.

How far does it drop before the trap springs?

Once the trap is set and I drop the pan to where i think it should be there is 1/8th of an inch travel before it fires. The more I play with them the more i like them.

Hey Chris, what do you think of the belisle 110’s? Do you think they’re a little overkill or what? I’ve looked at them a few times but never heard of anyone using them for rats or mink... maybe I’m stupid for I use belisles in everything else

They are my favourite body grip. I have other brands but if I’m reaching on the back of the truck for a trap I always grab the belisles first.
