Many as he goes through is profitable at 2.50 a coon. If he paid $2 he's got more than 2.50 in them. You don't run routes for nothing. You don't finish a green coon for .50. But I would guess he's able to double his investment on $2 coon.

coonman- just de-stress, what's done is done. You're now coonless and done with them for the season. Let's see what next season brings. Like I said 10 days ago or so, selling coons next fall may be the least of our problems. If your good coon from Iowa sold for about the same as those in Indiana, it won't mean much to anyone. Go catch some beavs and don't get Corona. Or sit at home and worry about other things...

Yeah coonman, its not really like the regular flu. The regular flu kills about 1 in 1,000 people that get it, corona is killing about 30 in 1,000 that get it, a lot higher rate if you're old or already health comprised AND you're certain ethnic folks (DNA-based, the same reason why the commercial DNA companies can tell where your ancestors are from is the same reason why some get really sick and die from it). No one really knows if it will die off during the summer, maybe, probably, but it will probably be back next cool/cold season. No one knows how many are really dead in China or Iran, they are dictatorships, they don't won't tell the world the truth. How many Chinese will just be "gone" next year, maybe we'll find out, maybe not. I wouldn't want to be in the cleaning business right now...

I was told groney Is having these coon dressed and then made into plates. Know there Isn't any storage issues and the manufacture can receive dressed goods with In several weeks and he knows exactly what he's getting. Smart move by groney If It's true.

Until we have a universal test for this new bug, how can we have statistics when only the deathly I'll are given a real test?

Beav, surely you realize the tremendous over head invested in a coon by the time it becomes a plate. They don't have an endless supply of purchasing funds, and there is increasing risk with sitting on a substantial amount of fur with extreme uncertainty everywhere in the fur industry. There is certainty in this , everything changes, fur markets , stock markets, you name it for better or worse it's going to change. And if everybody thought this year was a short harvest I bet it will half that again. What folks have said about ranch fur well get ready imo.
