I believe Buford Pusser (Walk and Tall) carried a 41 magnum.
I haven't owned one, but for the distance you are looking at, I would think it would work nicely.

Well I dropped the money on it i figure it is worth the 250 he was asking he said that’s more then the gun shop was offering

Owned one for a few minutes. Found it in the woods. Gave it back to the drunk that lost it. Smith & Wesson revolver, chrome or nickel I think.
