If you read the whole article this may have a profound impact on even the normal flu. Much cheaper, faster and they would be able to adjust the vaccine mid-stream to keep up with mutations/various strains. Pretty promising, being plant based instead of the more expensive, much slower egg based vaccines.

Since it's plant based rather than egg based will it be restricted to vegans ?

Knowing that we have the start of a resolution for a virus that could be circulating the globe for who knows how long is a great thing. What it does tell me is that we now really need to get a handle on testing millions so we can prevent the more severely impacted by contracting the disease. Even countries like Vietnam have better testing programs then we do here. We have the ability to change rapidly but we always seem to wait and just want to say it is nothing to worry about go on about your lives. When the private sector where the real losses are going to occur take stringent action prior to the government we need to review our policies after the panic and develop better strategies for the future.
