Well has anyone went and looked? I went out and found 2 small ones. I have seen that Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas and Missouri have had some finds. [Linked Image]

I went out and looked today for a couple of hours and not one ( East Tennessee ) Found a snake out in the open so its getting warmer and they may pop up soon

It's just about to kick off real good here, I should find a good amount by next weekend. My red bud tree is just starting to bloom. That's always a good sign to hit them woods.

Here is a nice web site. They say when your area gets in to the 1100 degree mark the morels really start to kick off good.

As of today, there are no morels up in Wisconsin.
(I did not walk the entire State but seemed like a fair portion of it)

Here in Midwest we get them in all colors. Lil Grey's. Big yeller's. Occasional darker color and the orange look like the one your thinking is a false morel
