Afraid it may not be the original BS we thought. I am 4 miles from Hudson,your schools have been canceled,wonder when our Gov. follows .
Thinking this thing could be really bad,especially for us old codgers.

Or its a safe place for kids while two parents have to be at work.

Illinois closed school til the end of month then spring vacation. I think its a good idea but where are those city kids going to hang out , at the mall? If so they just as well be at school.

Just got the email from the principal of our Grandsons school-No school next week and then the week after is Spring Break. The school already had work for them to do at home next week.
Maybe he can help me do a little beaver work!

3 weeks for my daughter, 1 of which was spring break already. Glad I work from home and dont need to scramble for someone to watch her.

Make that 4 weeks, my daughter will be out of school March 18-April 14.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard of in my life. If sick old people are the only ones that died then you need to quarantine everybody over say 60. Meanwhile let everybody go on about the business.

Yeah, your right. Local news guy said closed and then spring vacation. But Gov release said if spring break was outside the time frame then move it back within the time frame.
I don't really think 2 weeks is going to do much good but by then people will be ready to fight to get the kids back in school, lol.

Yeah,but why is school the only place they get a good meal? Are parents neglecting their children?...Even with welfare,...why can't those children eat well?
Many families navigate the financial obstacles in regard to raising their children,...many of those are doing it on less than 16 dollars an hour,...why shouldn't they be concerned when their government tells them they should pay more in taxes to support the program?

I know this is a side issue to Corona,..but it is one that many question.

The goverment is doing a good job spreading it. They distrubuted all the people from the cruise ship in california to multiple different military bases across the country thus spreading it. Heard that american citizens in europe will be allowed to come back and will be routed through something like 12 different airports spreading it.

Now I dont have a problem taking precautions, but still feel this is being overblown.

My wife told me she heard at work (healthcare clinic) from someone high up that those returning from the infected cruise ship, at least those returning to WI, were transported by WI National Guard and are currently being quarantined and "supervised" by armed guards. Not sure how that's spreading it, but you do you.

You can slow it. But.... you won't stop it. Just delaying the inevitable

Because they flew them from california to Wisconsin and now they can spread it to the people gaurding them and then those people will spread it to everyone they contact.

They want us all to stay home and avoid large gatherings as to not get infected. Then distribute infected people all over the country.

Those people should have not been allowed to leave the port in California till all where given a clean bill of health. Which makes perfect sense to do if the government truly wanted to mediate the spread of it.

I think some of the panic buying of necessities is because parents will have to take care of their kids for a few weeks instead of having the schools feed them.
