What does the flu have to do with not allowing people to buy certain things?

If you cannot purchase the things you need because the government made that illegal you are now beholden to that government for those things, and the conditions they set which you must meet to get those things.

Influenza has a mortality rate of 0.1%

If 20,000 died that means 20,000,000 were infected.

COVID-19 has a mortality rate of 1%-2%

That means if that same 20,000,000 person sample got COVID-19, 200,000-400,000 would die.

Be afraid, the government will take care of you.

The president declared a national emergency so states are following through with that designation for the most part. Some more avid than others.

Can't compare us to other countries with socialist/communist ways of doing things. The way healthcare is done in Italy and other countries is vastly different! Their level of preparedness is different! Their view on human life is different.

In some of these countries they are literally telling older folks they are going to be left to deal with it on their own! Because of age!

This virus seems to be nothing of substantial credibility as far as it's capabilities to harm people. Yet. People are acting as if it's killing millions without discrimination!

Same thing is happening here and will get worse ,wondering if this wasn't started to get rid of older people who can and are a burden to society

Well seeing as how nobody cares about how many people die from cars each year; the number should be at least that high right?!

The last paragraph in the article is very concerning, "Emergency proclamations made by the mayor can last up to seven days under the legislation – up from the current limit of 48 hours – though City Council would have the ability to end it sooner. The council could also extend the proclamation to a maximum of 90 days."

I am glad I know how to survive and protect my family.

Dang it, it passed. I really really hope the mayor doesn't implement it.
