That is what the left would like you to believe, that every little despair in our cushy lifes can be blamed on Big Something.

Well did being big make Goliath bad or did being bad just cause Goliath and his brothers grow big? Maybe we've been programed from bible days to think big is bad and I still do to an extent.

That's why they use the Big label, to demonize a faceless company.
Big oil is not the guy down the street that runs the gas station.
Big Ag is not the farmer down the road.

I think it would go a long way in lowering cost of medicine and medical care if it was a requirement that all care providers and pharmacies had to post up front and public prices for services and medicine .

I agree Bigfoot and what other business do you know that besides hospitals that you can't at least get an estimate. When you go to the hospital you have no idea the cost , then in about 3 months you get a bill and you think boy glad that's over then in about 5 months you are still getting more bills. I guess one should be ashamed to ask the price of health care, after all it is your health and life, only a cheap skate (me) would ask the cost of happiness and health.

The meds I take for my MS are $9800 per month and that is for just one prescription. I'm paying for some guy's fancy cars, multiple condos and fancy vacations just because I was unlucky enough to catch something I have no control over. I'm sure if I bought them in Canada or Mexico it would be a fraction of the cost's. Maybe I should see what my vet charges......

Took my buddy for a shot of somekind before cancer took him. He came out and asked me to guess how much that one shot cost.

I guessed a thousand dollars. WRONG. That shot cost his insurance 20 thousand!

I wonder why the net profit by percentage for the pharmaceutical companies is twice as high as oil companies? Could it be that you can cut back on your driving but not on your cancer med?

A drug that is in the news now, chloroquine.
About 30 years ago I took quinine for cramps. You could buy it over the counter and the pharmacist would sell me a big bottle of 500 for about $3. It really worked well and I had cramps pretty regular working in the woods. Then I went in and found out the FDA required a prescription. Cost me an office call but my Doc wrote me a script and was still cheap. Next time I went to my Doc for a script he told me he had guidance from the FDA not to prescribe it for cramps anymore because they said it was not effective. He could still prescribe it for malaria which I told him I had. ;),still cheap. Next time though quinine was no longer approved but they had this new stuff called chloroquine. He wrote me a script but the stuff was too expensive $5/pill. The only active ingredient in chloroquine is quinine. At least that is what an internet search showed me. Chloroquine is patented but quinine is generic and the FDA no longer allows quinine to be sold.
You cannot tell me there was not a pay off involved.

2 of the scripts my wife takes is over 900 a month at the local pharm with our insurance. so we called up to Canada one was 99.00 the other is 110.00 a month same drugs just a savings of 700.00 a month they don't take ins so we pay out of pocket for them.
when we asked the local pharm why such a big diff in price there response was due to the fda regs. and manurfacturing cost of the drugs when I said one comes from the uk and the other from Germany no response

And now it comes out that all them drugs we cant legally buy from Canada or Mexico because of quality concerns are being sourced from china and other countries by the pharma companys
