This guy landed above my bird feeder this evening and asked: "Who's been hoarding all of the toilet paper?"

I told him to get his own or go pound mice.

I live in eastern Kansas and we see them frequently now. I don't remember seeing them at all until about ten years ago. They are certainly a lot easier to approach than a great horned owl.

What was really cool was I was at first watching it from a distance with my binoculars when it started flying directly toward me. It grew bigger and bigger until it looked as if it was going to come right through the lenses...made me put them down for fear of getting hit in the eyeballs.
