You can of coarse prep all your gear for next season. You can also get out on your line/trapping ground and do some prep and management.

It's a good idea to do some scouting a couple weeks before the season opens. Look for sign and spots that look good to make a set.
The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.

I didn’t trap this year...work has me chained up. But I still prepped and still ran my little line up my back yard river. Another thing I like to do is test lure, whether homemade or commercial. Set up some game cams and kind of get an idea of who’s in the woods.

In the off season I try to buy up all the traps I see on Craigslist and fb market place in my area. I resale some and hang the rest...with the exception of handing some out to kids. Sounds crazy but it’s another weird way I try to stack the odds in my favor. Can’t set traps you don’t have.

Like said above trap prep and property. You have a lot of months to get each trap firing just like you want. Good job and good luck.
Everything the left touches it destroys

You can always do things like trap pocket gophers and skunk to help gain some more trapping properties. Helps me take the edge off in the off season. Lot's of things you can do like the others have said and once you start, it seems like you find other things to do too.
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.
