Union Laborer, County Highway Laborer, County Engineering Tech, Land Surveyor for 45 years. Union or government employment wasn't for me.

With the Covid-19 pandemic I'm thinking about starting an Apocalyptic Goat Herding consulting business depending on how many survive.

My dad and oldest brother both retired from the railroad. I could have got on through them years ago but I was happy as a self-employed mason and didn't take it.

First real job was planting trees for a place called Santa's Forest. Went from there to Stark Candy Company working as the guy who stamped out all those candy hearts with the sayings on them. Worked my way through college as a machinist. Then worked with kids with disabilities for 37 years, 24 of which was as Director of HR. Went from there to supporting students with barriers at Western Technical College. Am winding up my career as an Employment and Training Specialist for the State of Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. Been a good road.
