When just little guy I at 10 started picked straw berries for neighbor. Also worked summers doing hay on couple different farms near home. One them farms turned into a salvage yard so I worked there too..Be honest that was some fun can't believe my parents allowed it..
First real job in high school when I turned 16. I was considered herdsman on hog farm raise pure bred hogs..Did that until graduated..
After high school I went to work in construction building new homes and doing remodels..At age 30 I was hire as a full time fire fighter and did that until retired few years back. I also worked 20 some years part time as a diver for a company doing mussel surveys..

I worked as a carpenter for my Dad for a couple years while in high school but he told me I was not good at it.
Worked for the local foundry for a couple three hours every morning before school too, knockin out pig iron and sweeping the deck.
I was not too good at that either I guess. Went to work for the local county highway for a couple years, I was pretty good with a
chainsaw, learned to drive a truck with a 20 speed forward and 4 in reverse transmission and got tired of being called up at 2 in
the morning to plow snow. Went to college to learn north from south and been a professional land surveyor since then.
Sometimes it takes a fellow some time to figure out your direction.

In chronological order starting in grade school, does not include trapping which made me way more money in my school days (1970's) than anything else at the time.

Berry picker, bucking hay bales, crab processing (Bering Sea), longshoreman, fur buyer, ski lift operator, house framer, foraging, exploration geologist, timberland investor, rental houses, private money lender, hunting guide, commercial fisherman.

In my younger days I worked at a gas station when they had "Full Service" pumps.

Pumped gas, washed windows, and checked the oil.

When I turn 18 I started working at the worlds largest cereal mill.

For 25 yrs I ran the machines that made, filled and packed cereal boxes.

The last 17 yrs I made the flavorings for Instant grits.

After 42 yrs. I called it quits.

WISH I HAD MORE TIME TO TRAP!

From 90-95 worked in a plant cutting, grinding, beveling, drilling and tempering glass for shower doors.
From 95-99 Plumbing with dad and brother, got Master card in 99
From 99-2008 Federal Prison, and not as a guard. But I did maintenance there, and ran the Unicor diesel engine rebuilding factory for three years as lead expediter.
From 2008 til now, worked shipyard, a couple of different plumbing companies, my own plumbing company, and currently self employed handyman. Being a plumber was too expensive, handyman is better. smile
Oh, as a teen I helped my Uncle in his sod business. Cutting, flipping, and stacking sod onto truck in Alabama heat ain't nothing nice.
