I am in the market for a new boat. I seriously considered a Lund 1800-2000 Sport Angler. But after hours of research I have decided I would prefer somthing better built and a boat I can use on the 2,500 acre lake I live on as well as some ocean fishing possibly some blue finn tuna fishing out to 12-13 miles. I was set on the Hewescraft 18-20' Pro-V ET. I see that Hewescraft is the number 1 selling aluminum boat in AK. Are there other options I should consider? I need a nice live well as I fish live bait in both fresh and salt. From what I know so far there are no dealers on the east coast for all three of the boats mentioned above. I would consider anything "well built" in the 18-21' range. Any other sugestions?

I have a Hewescraft Pacific Cruiser 22' that is really comfortable. I bought it used last year for 50K, it only had 930 hours on it, and it had been used exclusively in fresh water (it's in salt now). This model has a live well in the transom, it doesn't have a lot of fishing space in the back, but plenty room for at least two people. The plus side is it has nice sleeping berths up forward and decent cabin space; all in a 22 foot boat. It actually has more fishing space in the cockpit than it looks like in the picture, probably six feet. The boat you posted would be nice, but, $44K for a soft top boat? wow, I had now idea they are that much new. I'll bet you can find a good used one for less. One thing I found when I was shopping for my used Hewescraft is that they sell really fast. If you find a good deal on a used one don't dilly-dally or someone else will beat you to it.

Thunderjet is making in-roads, as well, but is mostly a big-river boat.
Just doing what I want now.

Try looking for a 2019 or even 2018 model in a depressed area. You might get a brand new boat for a major price break.
There are quite a few bells and whistles listed on that Lund that I wouldn't want to pay for.

I agree about the Lund and I think there are better options if you plan of fishing salt water as well as fresh. I assume shipping from the west coast to the east coast will be $3,000 or so

I am being told the North River Seahawk is one of the best options for the ocean. Any of you have any experience?
