Isn't that what they call barkstone castors? I think I've only seen it a time or two.

I caught one in late March last year that had castors that were huge and as hard as a turkey gizzard. Didn’t weigh it, but it was the largest castor glands I’ve ever seen. A little larger than a tennis ball.

Another set that were big but not hardened. In my opinion the hard mineralized "barkstone" castors are not functional, therefore are more likely an infection of some sort that caused them to metastasize like a hardened udder in a cow or goat.
