I was wanting some feedback of the people that have actually used the Fox Hollow finned stakes, I am thinking about replacing all of my wolf fangs with these and was wondering if anyone had any problems out of them.
Thanks
Frankie

Ran them for many years. Only problem I’ve ever seen on them is once in a great while there will be a weak casting on the retrieval loop hole. Maybe one out of 100. Held a ton of yotes with them even in very very muddy fields. Never had one pulled.

You ain't driving them in Georgia clay unless you punch in a pilot hole. They ain't coming out unless you got welded chain or a big cable with double or triple crimp on them and even then your going to need a puller. However, in mud or muck they go in well and pull easy. I use some on the beaver line. I wish the regular super stakes has the retrieval boss.

Ran them ever since they came out, first with cable then with all chain. Chain is way better, I prefer #3 chain, I've broke #2 pulling. Get a beast puller if ya do and thank me later. Here I run 16 inches of chain, may be different were you trap. I drive em 12 in undisturbed soils and 16 in muck and sand. I've had 2 yotes over the years dig um up and leave trap and all in sand and all but that's out of a lot of yotes. Now In loose sand I add a JC Conners Chestnut ring with a quick link attached to the top link and drive a rerod stake at a 45 just to eliminate anymore of that.

Common sense catches alot of fur..
Pay homage to all you harvest..

TB I had trouble with the #2 chain as well. 18” of #3 chain and welded 5/8ths lock washer attached to the stake head. No more problems for me.

Yep. Although I haven’t used the retrieval cable in a few years. Just hook to the chain and pull as normal.

I just started using them this past year at the suggestion of a friend and I love them. I used to use heavy duty Berkshires and hate when the tip breaks off. The only complaint I have with the Super Stakes is that when you go to set the trap again you have to dig mud out of the hole.

I've used wolf fangs go a long time and I like them, but they are a major pain trying to pull them. I was hoping that the super stakes chained and a retrieval cable would be easier.

Next time you pull one take it and hit it against your puller. As long as it isn`t frozen it will come right out.You have to do it as soon as you pull it or it will dry in them and get hard to get out.
