You did good! In time you will be rewarded well for a brave move most wouldn't do. People have to remember if you play the markets it for the long haul.

I never try to time the market. I buy mutual funds or index funds with a long, long track record of winning and I buy every month. It doesn't matter if the market us up or down, I just buy. I used to buy stocks and try to figure out when was the best time to buy and the best time to sell and I did pretty good but I had too many eggs in not enough baskets. I didn't have the time to research and study 100 stocks so I usually only owned a handful. Many years ago I sold my stocks, bought mutual funds, and I haven't tried active trading in a long time. However....I've just changed my thinking on this. I'm still keeping most of my money where it is but I just sold a couple of index funds that were down 8%. I used the cash to buy stocks and funds that are way down but have a long history of winning. - XLE, a fund made up of the major oil companies, that is down 54%. Oil has always been a poor investment because it doesn't offer much growth but it's also always held it's value. I don't think we'll get rid of fossil fuels any time soon. I have been wrong before so I'm trying to maintain self control because I really want to put more money in this one.
- BA, Boeing. Down 71%. Air travel is going to be down for a while and the demand for airplanes will be down but Boeing has a lot of government contracts that won't be effected. I can wait a long time so I don't need them to recover any time soon, I just need them to stay in business until they do and I don't think the US govt. will let Boeing fail.
- RCL, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines - Down 75%. They're hurting bad but had a lot of cash on hand before any of this started. Most of their costs are labor and fuel, two things that can be cut by parking ships. I admit that this one is a gamble so I didn't put a lot of my money here. Again, I can wait it out. I just need them to survive this and a slow recovery is fine with me.

Saving money is almost always a good choice. Roth is the way to go. I wish I would have used ROTH's more earlier in my investment plan. The market looks like crap for sure but with interest rates now at nearly 0 the options are few for sure. Not a bad time to borrow money for me. I can wait out the plunge. A recession is a certainty, but that will be probably later this summer or fall. What we will have until then needs a capital D in front of it. Yes we will see some real demand when this blows over but for those in our current administration that feel that Americans will instantly go back to spending at previous levels are delusional at the least. If you have lost 30% of your wealth and liquidity is low you just can't spend like you did before this event.
Bryce Rates are good but FHA loans are a rollercoaster right now. I found out late yesterday afternoon one mortgage loan I was about to get I wasnt qualified for. There is 2 other FHA loans I qualify for but since Wed the rates went as high as 5%. When I was talking to my broker the other 2 rates were at 4.25% and higher which means a much bigger mortgage payment that I can't afford now I was beyond sad as I might not get the house.

I see where lots of the politicians with inside information about the crash all sold their stocks.

I see where lots of the politicians with inside information about the crash all sold their stocks. Driven by greed, instead of being there for the people, working their position for personal gain. Never get rich in politics unless you are crooked.

I see where lots of the politicians with inside information about the crash all sold their stocks. Not lots but there was a few and a few is too many. Unfortunately it seems there are never any consequences for any in the deep state regardless of party.
