Titletown is closed. We rely on tourism so a big portion of folks work in the service industry - they are all out of work. Restaurants, bars, Lambeau Field, .... Here the restaurants are trying to stay open with a skeleton crew and only doing take out. Not sure that is going to work but they are trying.
My question is how long can a place be closed and still remain viable? I would suspect that if this goes on several weeks as predicted many of them will never open again.
Hang in there everybody.

So far it has not affected my routine much at all where I am.
I live in rural, sparsely populated Jefferson County in Northern New York and I've lived a isolated lifestyle for 10+ years so social distancing is business as usual for me.
I work for New York State OPRHP in a Seasonal State Park position and generally Start work 1st of May or so.
Not sure if we will be opening the state parks for business this year or not.
My position is park security so I'm not sure if I will be affected.
Time will tell.

Brian imo even if this lasts 4-8 weeks many small businesses will not recover. some may reopen and tryt to work through it but im afraid by nexy uear many will be forced to shut down. a couplle months of lost income is hard for new businessses to overcome

I've been willing to go along with all this because it might be necessary, but we can't all stay at home forever. The economy is going to be in shambles, and the government response is just going to make things worse. (Hi, I'm from the government, and I'm here to help!) At what point do we say screw this, the cure is worse than the disease? LOL...I'm from the government , and I'm here to help....that comment speaks volumes, honestly I cant stop laughing.

How bad or what do you think will happen when we have a real pandemic or emergency? I hope this opens a few eyes. Yup !! I'll go with that... we got notified that the plant [defense] will stay open no matter what, great... so a hundred of us get to sit around and do nothing because the 53 K program is on life support, the Blackhawk programs are on a trickle because there's no real demand for new ones [loads of them are in service now...] but yeah, rather than give us all two months off - keep us all cooped up on an assembly line that breeds illness on a good day. I just turned 55. Monday I making phone calls about taking my early retirement ASAP and jumping ship. If the numbers look good, I am out. Supposedly, our great government is going to ensure that everybody out of work due to this virus will be compensated, which - since historically our government has never had a problem bailing out the rich, it would be nice if they took care of the workers who make this country great for a change... so in theory, no one should go broke over this - again, in theory. Folks I work with are foaming at the mouth regarding that the plant is not being shut down... oh well, time will tell I suppose. I haven't been here on T-Man in a while, but this is no joke. If you are bored and want to look at charts, graphs, and numbers just to see what is coming down the pipe, here's some good food for though: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/*make sure you check it around 6.00 p, Eastern daylight savings time so you get the numbers from Europe.... Be safe everyone !!
