That jacket probably cost some serious bucks. Just like competition long range firearm shooters , the jacket is designed in many ways to give you an edge.
May not look it , but I bet there is a lot of science that went into that jacket.

It has all kinds of designed supports for the hands, wrists, arms, shoulders and back.
Maybe they call it ergonomics ?

a 10 meter air rifle target the x ring isn't a ring it is a dot about as small as a pencil lead in a mechanical pencil you have to remove it with a .177 pellet.

i have a few friends that run coats they consistently shoot distinguished scores falling 1-4 points short of perfect

when you get to the competitive levels like that the difference between one shooter and the next may be 1-2X

I think the tripod is there to place the rifle on when not shooting. JMO

That is an ammo stand for holding the pellets and as a rest for sitting the gun on between shots. Precision air rifles with sights cost around $5000. The shooting jacket and pants are $2000-$3000. Then there are $300 boots. Smallbore shooters need another rifle with more equipment for shooting 3 position competition. In all, it takes about $12500 to be properly equipped.

Thanks for the info cwilson. I know she shoots three position air and I think that is all. She does not use a tripod.

"In a remarkable performance at the 2017 CMP Three-Position Air Rifle Regional Championships, Kristen Hemphill, 17, of TX Hill Country Shooting Club, fired a new standing National Record score of 200-19X. To put it in perspective, she hit the X-ring, which is roughly the size of the head of a pin, 19 out of a possible 20 times in a row. That same day, she mirrored her standing score by firing a prone score of 200-19X."

I don't know what her kneeling score was.

She now shoots for TCU and is studying to be a nurse. She was the 2019 NCAA Air Rifle Champion.
