Would appreciate any feedback on storing put up fur in a walk in cooler until the world settles down and it can be transported. Any one do this before? Things to watch for? good or bad idea?

THANK YOU ! ! !

How cool does it get and what is the humidity would be my concerns. A freezer is better, because you don't have the humidity factor. I can see a possible mold problem in a cooler. You need to keep them dry!

No humidity would be best but I don't think you can get that. And I don't know If you can run a dehumidifier In the cooler. But It would be something to look Into.

But the cost of running the cooler may not be cost wise with the way the market Is. Know if you could store fur for other trappers you may be able to offset the cost.

What Beav said. Do you have more fur than will go in a freezer or two? Even a couple chest freezers run a lot cheaper than a walk in cooler. You can bundle them tightly to save space. Put them in a garbage bag, laid out so they will fit, then compress and use packing tape on the outside of the bag.I've put a hundred coyotes in pretty small places that way before, and the same with all your fur.

Yep I got a hundred and eighty-five raccoon into a 25 cubic freezer. Little more work I could do 200 if I need to. I think there's room for even more than that but I start getting concerned about damaging them LOL

The cooler will be running anyway for other reasons, and it has room for the fur, so seemed like a good place.
