UPS came today.
Knocked.
I answered.
By the time I answered he was walking away.
My package was at the door.
I said “thank you.” Loudly.
He turned and flippantly said while holding up his POS system “I’m forging your signature”
I yelled “stay safe”

That’s our world today. And I don’t blame him.
Totally illegal. But what am I going to say? Frankly I was just glad it showed up at all!

They do that here anyway. Most of the time they dont even bother to knock. Blow the horn once as they exit the truck and just leave the parcel on the porch

Can't remember the last time I had a package that required a signature, whether it was UPS, FedEx or USPS. So either I need to buy more expensive stuff or they're already forging my signature!

Really??
Maybe it’s more common here in Ontario Canada.
I sign quite a bit.

Here UPS and Fedex just leave the package by my door. Post office puts them in a locker by the community mail box (apartment complex). Unless it is a valueable package that requires a signature, it is probably faster and more efficient to drop the package and leave.

Only high value items need signatures unless they changed their policy.

Thought I heard Fed x said they would no longer make their drivers get you
to sign for stuff since this started.

The USPO added on their own click and ship labels that it was OK to leave the box my guess is the insurance is void after that. LOL

I'm that neighbor. When I see UPS/FEDEX/USPS dropping off to my neighbor and I know he is not home , I take care of his package. He does the same for me.

We have our own neighborhood watch.

If the sender requested / paid to get a signature at the time the driver delivered it to store front / home. Then he-she gets a signature .If not the driver can leave it in a "safe" place without a signature.

Most know where to put a package if I’m not home.

It's been alot of years since I remember signing for packages on a regular basis. The only time now is if they leave a package at my shop that is for my brothers shop that's across the road, and they're not there.

IE, a package addressed for someone else.

Never had to sign for a residential packege or even be home for that matter. Now where I work they always ask for signitures.

Has nothing to do with that. It's called driver release. For a signature required there are certain criteria, everything else the package is just left. Plus drivers are Teamsters. They don't get let go to easy.

My UPS guy drops my packages off at the wife’s place of work if he has drops there as well. That has cost me a few pairs of fancy shoes over the years. LOL
