I would like to try again at building a solo synchronized swimming competition to compete in the Olympics. I couldn't get it off the ground before but, I think I can do it this time.

I did get laid off, permanently. Full time snapping turtle trapper--- provided the restaurants get back up and running!! First you shoot the bait, then you trap the turtles. Right now I am quarantined and bored out of my mind.

I should be thankful I will not get layed off unless they close my plant. If they close it will not reopen so I don't think it will close.
That said they could lock 2 shifts in out of our four. If locked in that would be 24hr pay over 6k a week. If locked out 32hr paid. 680 a week. Both before taxes. Either would be fine with me. Working I would enjoy making killer money esp since it will be a good time to get good deals. Off I can get farm work cought up and expand. Either would be a win. But it looks like it will be business as usual.

If you do loose your job finding a replacement will be very hard at this time unless you are I. A sector that wont shut down or have high demand skills. But if your in that boat you would not loose your job to begin with. Well maybe low paying jobs like groceries stores or their suppliers that are over worked right now may be an option. I have no idea what the people that didn't save, and are leveraged to tha max are going to do if even one spouse loses their job or even get hrs cut. My guess is they will get a hard lesson in finance management. Unfortunately many didn't learn or remember from 08. It will be bad for many I just hope it won't last long.

I was happy with what I was doing, I would do it again.

The company i work for has said they might have to lay off, my seniority #is 331 out of a thousand so i might be ok. But we depend on the automobile industry ( catalyst material for convertors). I would have a 14 week severance package coming, got my trap supply business and a.d.c. business but my lifestyle requires more money than it makes. So thinking I'll start up trucking company " if you call we haul" lol.

I'm going to be watching for new and wealthy widows who have a cow calf operation and lots of feral hogs to trap.

I:m a mechanic for a police department so I'll have a job as long as there's police cars out on the street. But if I were out of a job, I'd just work on cars at home. Not having a lift sucks, but it wouldn't be the first time I've done side jobs. I don't normally do side work, I don't even like to work on my own stuff, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Eric, if your that bored you could show us how to bend the conduit to make turtle traps.

well, as I just turned 55... which gives me options as far as early retirement goes, i always figured I'd do something with wildlife, perhaps start as a volunteer trapper working for the State with the State Wildlife Biologists, but - well, I'm not going to lie... between bad knees and a bad lower back... my trapping dream ended before it even began, so I instead focus on doing what I can with supporting the Trapping groups, and writing letters to the State when the need arises to defend the necessary reasons to trap.

Anyhow - I've been saying for a while that my dream job - my dream job after a 33 year career working on the finest military helicopters in the world - is to drive a forklift on 2nd shift in the plant, and yesterday I found out I GOT IT !!

Yes, big cut in pay... but now I get to ride around all over the place delivering parts to where they need to be.

If I had gotten laid off, or took an early retirement - this would have been my new path in life.

So, I got lucky, I'll be able to ride that forklift into the sunset and a retirement age where once I retire, it's for good.
