I have a question for you guys, if this viruse let's up any time soon and if I can make it to Tennessee for your turkey opening week. I was wandering if I could get some information on good public ground or private ground. Just would like to get into a different area and a little get away from all this nonsense. Feel free to direct message me with any questions or tips thanks so much

Frank

AS FOR PUBLIC LAND CHEATHAM WMA IS CONSIDERED THE BEST TURKEY HUNTING. I WOULD WAIT FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS INTO THE SEASON BEFORE I TRIED IT THERE, TO LET THE LOCALS QUIT HUNTING. PRIVATE LAND FOR TURKEY HUNTING IS HARD TO COME BY. WE DON'T HAVE NEAR THE NUMBER OF BIRDS THAT WE HAD 10 YEARS AGO, AT LEAST NOT IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE. GOOD LUCK.

any public land that is spread all over the bet as great will soon be crap. seen it to many times. if i were you; i would look into smaller parts less known and study maps. i also suggest anyone giving info to do so in private.

Usually a little latter is better for calling but we are way ahead of normal with no winter and expected to get to 80 this week. I saw gobblers strutting with hens yesterday. I usually hunt private but have hunted Prentice Cooper wildlife area just because it is close and have killed turkeys there but usually hunted it toward their last hunt dates. A lot of that is rough side of the mountain and you will not see a lot of people there if you get away from the main road.
