The decision was hard but the circumstances made the need to cancel Minktoberfest obvious.
Today as I went to send a nonrefundable deposit in for the Mobile toilets and shower units, I got calls from people wanting to cancel and their non refundable deposit returned, concerns from a big name attendee about flying, uncertainty from a chef about safety and his role of keeping people safe, Government guidelines about large gatherings and so on and so on. I imagined many potential problems. I was concerned for people coming from other areas and states where we may expose them and or they may expose the group to the coronavirus. Therefore, I will be sending checks back to everyone who registered. I'm sorry I have to tell you this and make this decision. I sincerely apologize as I was looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.
Checks should be in the mail towards the middle of next week. I'm without secretaries now also, so please be patient.
I would ask you to cancel your hotel reservations, flights and travel plans as soon as possible.
Again, this is truly with regret that I announce this.

I have donated free registrations to National and State Organizations and I will pay for those donations out of pocket but obviously they should be removed from raffles, auctions and silent bid tables. I thank all for understanding. Don Powell.
