The state of Washington shut down all recreational fishing. They just call it an emergency closure and ticket you for fishing during a closed season.

Still open here in Michigan for now. It won't surprise me to see all the public boat launches closed next week. The lots were full on Lake Erie and the Detroit River last weekend. 5-6 guys piling in boats together when you are supposed to be solo or with family from the same household. Idiots ruining it for us all.

supposed to be solo or with family from the same household. There's the issue. Kind of like stengthening gun laws when criminals already dont follow them. People are.already not social distancing, dont make me a.criminal by outlawing how I get food!

It needs an "order of counsel" so if your legislature is sitting, they can change the season dates at that time usually held on Wednesday
I think you have been FORD...ED with the power that he has now. Hopefully the legislature isn't sitting, but social distancing lol. So far he hasn't hinted at it. Perhaps humans really are this stupid and deserve being nannied.

Sadly Hutchy, many of our society --are that stupid. Tom What makes this so different is, most times in life if you are stupid and do stupid things, you suffer the consequences. And this is a good system imo. This time, if you are stupid and do stupid things, grandpa suffers the consequences.

People are gonna have to fall back on all the old poaching skills, like travelling hunting and fishing without leaving any trace or sign. I imagine all the younger guys dont know how to do that with a truckload of modern equipment, lol.

Good Lord, in Maine they opened up the fishing season early and I think they have allowed folks to fish for a month without a license. This might sound good but there are some issues. First other than super over driven fly fisherman, no one fishes this early. But I have heard folks are hitting the water. This time if year a lot of guys are spring beaver trapping. Not a good mix.
