5 lb would be a huge mink here.I have heard from trappers in Alaska that some mink there are very fat.Around the coast I believe.

Your Best option would be to skin it,Flesh it and Tan it. Then PM me with a Price. If it was me though, I would get a Body Mount of that Minkzilla! Not interested in a mount for myself and have the jumbo from last year hanging on my wall. I want to try to sell it.

Same deal as the otters in southeast Alaska. Goldberg used to be the dominant buyer in Alaska and I once upon a time saw his Alaska otter bin while up in Seattle. They averaged a third bigger on average over what I am accustomed to in Oregon.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

That really is not a big mink. That is a fat mink. I used to come across them here, and when shipping to Canada, they always graded as "ranch mink".
It would logically be that as Kodiak bear are larger than normal Grizzly, that the high fat content of salmon and seals, would produce a larger mink, but it is about fur quality, and in that, it is about a fur buyer not grading it as a ranch mink, instead of a wild mink. But as they are not worth that much, it is like having a million dollars on Gilligan's Island.

Where I trap, 4 to 4.25 lb bucks are actually quite common when the rut is going. Not guesses—-I weighed them. The 2nd mink I ever caught was 4.25 lbs, and it’s mounted above my desk.
I’ve never caught one that big. 5.25 lbs would be a monster imo
Good to know! Thanks!

I've never weighed one either.

I never weighed a mink either, but I weighed a lot of fish and know the difference between a 3 lb'er and a 5 lb'er without weighing them all.
