So anyone still out running around the woods? or are all done and hunkered in.. Trees here seem to be budding out now. I didn't tap this year just didn't feel like it. I did see some buckets on a tree here yesterday. My yard tree I usually tap was dripping spots on drive way yesterday.
So whats going on with everyone? I've enjoyed watching this post.

We are probably going to end up with about 25 gallons of finished product. Our RO didn't work out our pump wasn't big enough to push the sap through the membrane.

Just finished our last batch yesterday...needed to boil the limited sap we had due to the forecasted warm weather...just below 70F. Should have ended the season with 13 gallons but due to a very unfortunate mishap, we finished with 8 gallons. Took advantage of the warm weather and thoroughly cleaned all our equipment so it will be ready for next year.

Hope everyone had a good season, albeit too short.

We drained the pan and have 10 gallons to finish today. Will be a little over our 25 gallon goal.

We are taking a 3 day stop while the real cold weather comes on. There may be one or two decent runs after the cold snap. Nice to take a break with the cold and wind. We beat all the rain Thursday. We took 2700 gallons out of the woods in three days and our total is now about 5900 gallons. We are up in volume on fewer trees and running a bit lower sugar content this year. We are averaging 2.7-2.8 on our total gallons.

We are having a really big run after the cold snap. We collected 804 gallons Tuesday and another 1219 today. We will have a good 3-400 again tomorrow. We now have 7900 gallons collected but our sugar is dropping rapidly now. We had some down to 2.1 today. Sap is staying nice and clear for the most part.

We collected 502 gallons on Friday working to beat the rainy weekend. The sugar content was back up to 2.5%. We are starting to see some cloudy sap from some of the trees and the moths are here now. Hopefully we get one more run and then be done. Lots to clean up!

We got the evaporator put away and the pan pressure washed. Still a lot to cleanup!

For some reason the buckets just aren't producing. Need to try vacuum. Lol
