less than a month away here...when does yours open?

Will your season be affected by this virus?

Opens roughly the middle of April here.

Haven't heard of it closed.

Turkey hunting is usually a solo hunt most of the time.

WISH I HAD MORE TIME TO TRAP!

Opened last weekend and it’s been a great one so far. Been a little warm and the gobblers are hen’ed up pretty good, but if you can get between the two in the mornings you’ll get your bird. Afternoons have been really good too when they head off to nest.

We’ve had several years in a row of good hatches. I’m trying not to limit out early, lol. Been fun taking people or going and calling for others.

Swampwolf says turkey numbers in his area (far south GA) are a fraction of what they were 20plus years ago. In the last 11 years that I’ve been going down there numbers are stable for the most part. Very huntable population but I’ve never seen them thick. Thankfully most years they call very well down there.

Been hearing that as well...just haven’t seen any evidence of it where I hunt. I hunt public and private. Private WE can control, the public land they seem to want to control this year. 1 bird per season on the main WMA I hunt, and I heard multiple birds every trip last year. Heard 7 different gobblers the last day of season last year.

Went to pull a trail cam and was too lazy to walk...glad I did. I trap and spend so much time at this place all the critters are used to my truck, lol.
